Hauppauge, NY – United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island (UCP-LI) was very proud to be selected as The Long Island Elite’s Charity (LIE) partner in 2022. Their fundraising efforts raised critical funds needed to support the building of an accessible playground for special needs children at The Children’s Center at UCP-LI. The playground is complete, marking a step in the right direction for children with disabilities! The ribbon cutting for the playground was held on Monday September 18, 2023.
The Long Island Elite is a nonprofit organization that exists to provide passionate professionals a platform to forge meaningful relationships while strategically impacting local charities with fundraising and service.
“Our entire membership rallied around the mission of building this accessible playground. Just a few short months later we got to see children of different abilities realizing their dreams of swinging outside in the sun like everyone else. It has been an incredible partnership and we are thrilled that this long-needed playground has come to fruition so quickly.” said Frank Morizio, Jr. Long Island Elite Board President.
The Children’s Center at UCP-LI has provided over 61 years of excellence in educational services including early intervention, preschool, and school-age programs tailored to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of children with disabilities from birth to 21 years of age. Year-round programs, screenings, evaluations, therapies, home or center-based instruction, support groups and assistive technology services are offered.
“UCP-LI is deeply honored to share this moment with The Long Island Elite members to raise awareness of our mission. Through their efforts, our dream of creating an outdoor play space for our children is now a reality. We are grateful for their ongoing friendship and support” said Colleen Crispino, President & CEO of UCP-LI.
